A Fellow at the Shuttleworth Foundation, Mark Horner set out to create widely available textbooks, for free. Horner and a worldwide community of educators collaborated to create open licensed, digital textbooks. Realizing that many schools around the world don't have access to the internet, Horner and team also developed an open press, from which educators can order printed versions of the online textbooks for a fifth of the cost of traditional publishers.
